I have a variety of images displayed at the San Clemente Art Association Gallery from July 23 - September 1, 2023. Many are printed and treated with a new process I've learned. I printed on thin, 25 gram Japanese Kozo paper and metal leafed the back either silver, copper, or silvergold. Each piece was glued to a hardboard, cold waxed on the front, and dropped in a black laquered floater frame. I signed (en verso) and numbered each. While they are an open edition, they are truly unique in the handwork required to make each piece. Since they are the first group I've made, I'm selling all my metal leaf prints remaining at the Gallery July - August show for a low-price of $175 each. All purchases are made through the gallery. Their sizes vary from 5.25"X5.25", 6.25"X6.25", 5.25"X7.25". They are each truly a treasure!
Also showing is my compilation of whale tales from a sperm whale I photographed last month off Catalina, and a Dolphin Stampede off Newport Harbor, as well as two award-winning shots I took on my recent trip to the Massai Mara in Kenya.
My Monestery Kitchen, taken last Septemer in Ladakh, India won First Place in our photography division of the July 2023 Show.
I am thrilled to have my piece, Passage through Lake Naivasha, taken in Kenya, included in Pendleton Eye Center's 20/20 Gallery's SECOND EXPOSURE show. This compilation of photographs features previously submitted but not accepted images from past exhibitions. It is a stark reminder that not everyone shares the same sense of aesthetics.
In a pro-active move to counter-point the bombardment of negativity in our culture, Front Porch Gallery bravely launched a global art project, “Lift the Sky.” What's your message to the world? It features more than 204 expressive works of art, from 14 countries and growing. Numerous mediums are represented: including paintings, quilts, fiber art, collage, photography, and mixed media. Messages of hope, love, peace, joy, saving our planet, support of nature and each other. Lift the Sky will seek additional opportunities to exhibit nationally and internationally at universities, museums, and public spaces such as international airports, the United Nations and Washington, D.C.
